Feb. 19, 2011

I had my long run today, stretched at the gym for 30 minutes and then sat in the sauna for 30 minutes!  Major time to myself because my in-laws are in town and they love to watch the kiddies.  My run I have to say was one where I was smiling pretty much the whole way.  It was cool this mooring (50) and the ground was wet.  I didn't go with my group because I wanted to make breakfast for our four guests along with my family.  A full family is a happy family.  So I went the extra mile and ground up the wheat for wheat pancakes from scratch, and cooked the bacon and eggs.  I didn't want any complaining for lack of food (or effort on my part).  I guess I do have a small bit of guilt for leaving on a Saturday for a couple of hours...but hey, I'm a runner.  It's what I do.  I forgot my Garmin, so i ran free of pacing and milage.  I drove to the Meadow in "Meadowview" a neighborhood that I would love to live in someday.  Big ranch houses, beautiful yards and wide open spaces.  Kind of reminds me of Palos Verdes with the green rolling hills and gorgeous landscape.  The meadow is in the middle and has hilly trails all through it for miles.  I ran all over including on the road for a few leg burning hills.  I wanted to take a picture so badly because it was so picturesque.  There is an old fashioned windmill in the middle of the meadow and there is green rolling hills and white stark clouds overlapping the dark blue sky.  It was a great 10 miles of runners bliss.  At least I think it was 10--give or take a few miles!  I was running for about 1 1/2 hours so I figured it was at least 10.
