This relay race is something I have been wanting to do for a while now.  My friend Christine who is a four time marathoner and responsible for my love of running, told me I must do a Ragnar.  She claimed it as her favorite race.  So I always had the desire even though it seemed like a dumb thing to do.  I mean who wants to stay up all night running?  And sleep in a van with 6 other smelly runners?  It also seemed highly unlikely that my hubby would ever go along with it because I would be gone overnight--that is way too long for mommy to be gone bye bye.  But when "Mikey Fresh" a guy in my ward who happens to be married to my visiting teaching comp, asked me to do it, I thought, why not?  Steve agreed.  Mike is a dentist.  He looks like a 17 year old dentist.  Or really a 17 year old surfer lets be honest.  He never runs.  He will probably beat my time by a minute per mile.  Hate that.  Anyhoo, he is the ring leader of our team: the Rompachomps.  It has grown on me.   Me and one of the other runners Beau Lawler signed the end of our emails today with "Chomper Out".  The team spirit is soaring.  One team member wants us to shave our heads.  I'm drawing the line on that one.  He claims since he cut his hair he's improved his time by 1 min per mile.  Don't hate.
