Ran 6 at 10:31 on my TM because Ella is sick. Pace for easy runs is slowly and steady climbing. I ran with a smile on my face--a bit sweaty but it was easy just like it's supposed to be. I wasn't hurting or breathing hard. I did a few hills but mostly stayed flat. Had a heck of a time starting because of Ella, but once I got started she was ok for some reason. (it only took an hour). I did warm up for quite a while. At least a mile. I ran at a 20 min pace, then 15 min pace...funny but it helps me! Once I'm warm I can go for a while and feel no pain.
Been trying to slim down because I am now 135lbs and I am determined to loose 10 lbs. I don't get why I have gained the 10. It's either the muscle I've gained or my supplements are off or both I am guessing. In any case, I'm trying to figure it out because I am having to muster about 6.5% more energy to run the same pace than if I were 125. I learned that from my latest book I'm reading called "Racing Weight". It's a pretty good book. One thing that surprises me is how little pros eat. Athletes--but especially runners, eat to stay thin. It keeps them fast. I have been eating like a horse. Time to change that diet. My new motto is, "Make it count".
I love that you have this blog! sad I didn't find it sooner! You are so amazing to put it into the world that you will get to boston. What is your new qualifying time since the cut back announcement last month? I wish I were in California to run with you. I am thinking of joining a running group here, do you love your running group?
