Back in the gym today.  Loved the spin class.  The teacher taught me how to get more out of it.  I thought I was doing awesome because I was dripping sweat, but apparently I have lots of room for improvement!  She taught me how it is important to put enough gear on to feel not only the push but also the pull of the pedals.  I was going too fast with not enough gear.  I was "bouncy" she said.  "You don't want to be able to bounce.  You want to push the gear up enough to feel a burn so you can build strength."  Here I thought I was pedaling like a champion!  Working my fast twitch muscles!  Ha ha...Anyway, it is fun to learn about different ways to cross train.  I feel like I'm in training not just for a marathon but for all kinds of sports.  I am learning so much from the teachers at the gym.

I am convinced I need to buy some cycling shoes.  People say they do make a huge difference in your workout for spinning.  Birthday gift anyone?
