Tempo Run (7 miles) 5 miles @ 8:20 1 mile warm/cool down.
I did my speed work with Carrie today and Davey now I know what you mean by wanting to cry while running. I wanted to cry for the first time in my life! I told Carrie I was going to do my five at a 9 and she said, no...you are faster than that. So up my number went...and up and up. At four miles I thought I was going to throw up. I stopped and walked for 400 yards. Then I said to myself I better finish this! So I ran the last mile. I felt like I was going to collapse from exhaustion but I didn't. Carrie was right. I am much faster than I think I am. For anyone reading this, that goes the same for you. We have to erase the numbers in our minds in order to get faster. We need to realize that we don't know how fast we are really until we push it to the limit. If I would have been home and not embarrassed to puke, I could have gone even faster. Lesson learned. Thanks Carrie! I owe you!
Jen, it's like on THE BIGGEST LOSER when those crazed trainers tell the contestants they can run at a speed 10 for 20 seconds. And they do. I am so,so proud of you! Believe.
ReplyDeleteYou are so insperational! It makes me wonder the potential we all have within our selves but we dont let our selves acheive. You rocked your run!
ReplyDeletenice work. If you're not puking and crying every once and a while you're not growing :)
