Feb. 23, 2011

Tempo run today.  Went to LA Fitness.  Ran 8 miles.  5 at 9:15. Ran 1 at 8:35.  Ran 2 miles on each end for warm up and cool down.  Was only supposed to run 7.  Put in the 1 at 8:35 at the end before cool down because I was feeling awesome.  I realized more than anything how crappy the first mile seems to always feel.  Then you get onto the run and you are fine and then you get this surge of energy and feel like you can run longer and faster than you think.  You are on fire.  You feel like you could run forever.  I guess this is the runner's high--not sure, but wow it feels sweet.  Wish all days went this well.  I guess the ups and downs are normal and the downs make you appreciate the ups even more.
